Bond Election:

The 2017 Franklin I.S.D. Bond Election will be held on May 6, 2017 at the Robertson County Election Office from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Early voting will be at the Franklin I.S.D. Administrative Tax Office April 24th -28th from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., April 29th from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and May 1st -2nd from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

This nine million dollar bond will be financed over thirty six months. FISD will not increase its tax rate for this bond. The bond will include money for the following :

· renovation and expansion of existing field house to facilitate increased class sizes,
· new roofs for the high school and middle school to resolve high maintenance issues,
· new equipment for the HVAC system to reduce energy cost, and
· new buses in the future to maintain quality transportation for our students.

This bond will also allow us to move M & O (Maintenance and Operations) items to the bond side to keep us from sending additional recapture dollars to the state. The money we save on the I & S (Interest and Sinking) side of the budget will reduce the need to increase the tax rate and keep more dollars in Franklin.

If you have any questions about the upcoming F.I.S.D bond election please come visit with me.

Sincerely,

Bret Lowry
Superintendent of Schools
Franklin I.S.D.
