NJHS Membership Information
Membership to the National Junior Honor Society is for 7th and 8th graders at Franklin Middle School who meet the qualifications provided below. Applications are accepted in the spring semester of the school year and induction takes place before the end of May of that academic year. Upcoming sixth and seventh grade students who meet the qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Requirements for NJHS Membership
Academic criteria will be evaluated on grades of the current 2016-2017 school year. Students must be enrolled in Franklin Middle School on or before October 1, 2016 in order to be considered for NJHS membership (first nine weeks of school).
Students must maintain an overall average of 90% in all classes during the 2016-2017 school year and may receive no nine weeks report card grade average that is below an 80%.
Students may have no discipline referrals during the 2016-2017 school year. Students may not have been assigned to the In-School Suspension Program (ISS) or DAEP for the 2016-2017 school year. Students may not have been suspended during the 2016-2017 school year.
Students must be in compliance with the state-mandated 90% attendance rule.
If students meet the above qualifications, they are encouraged to apply. There is a process by which students are to apply and information packets will be sent home upon request.
