Principal's Message

Welcome to the start of a new school year at Franklin Middle School!

I am extremely honored and excited to serve our students, our teachers, our families, and our community. I am confident as I tell you the staff is excited about the 2020-2021 school year. We are all looking forward to seeing our building filled with students again!  Franklin Middle School has a tradition of excellence in which we take great pride and strive to continue into the future.

Franklin Middle School traditionally emphasizes high expectation, good character, and academic excellence that is demonstrated in and outside of the classroom. Our students are encouraged to get involved and participate in a wide variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The students at Franklin Middle School are able to achieve success because of the great support they receive from their teachers, family, and community. The foundation they receive at Franklin Middle School enables them to achieve success as they move on to high school and then into adulthood.

The education of our youth takes all stakeholders -- everyone touching the lives of our youth -- working together.  I encourage you to be involved in your student’s education by staying engaged in their learning.  It is important that you are in communication with teachers, encourage your student to work hard, and encourage regular attendance.  When a student has a network of support, success is inevitable.  Our doors are always open if you have any questions or concerns.

This summer I found my grandmother’s report card from Franklin Schools in the 1930s and read a statement that is still true today.  “The children of today will be the men and women of tomorrow.  [Together we] ...give the correct training today so they will grow into honest, capable, high minded citizens tomorrow -- a credit to your name and a blessing to their community.”  We are looking forward to a great year.

It is a great day to be a Franklin Lion!
